ByStudents

ByStudents is a start up based in New York City. It consists of 15 editors, three managing editors, a CTO, a CFO/COO, and our intrepid founder and CEO Jordan Goldman. Everyone except for the CFO/COO is between 23 and 30 years old, and all of the editors are more or less right out of school.

We are small but scrappy and we want to change the world—or at least the way the world applies to college.

We believe the following things:

• That there isn’t nearly enough relevant, uncensored, accurate information available to high schools students in the college admissions process
• That there is more than one great school for every applicant
• That it is really unfortunate that most students only know about their local institutions, the Ivies, and maybe one or two hippie schools

Our plan is to shatter stereotypes and instead provide applicants access to what actual students think about their schools. Through the survey that we have set up at http://www.bystudents.com, we have been collecting responses from the top 200 schools in America, assisted by interns on the ground who are spreading the word about who we are and what we are trying to do. Thousands of students have taken the survey from all across the country and that number rises every day.
